Welcome to Starseed
We believe that early childhood education should be a nurturing and transformative experience. After many years of developing an understanding of children in our care at Starseed Kindercottage we are happy to share our knowledge of this very important work with a wider community, to meet the child of today.

We offer support and guidance as well as nourishing stories, puppetry and crafts to enjoy with your child.
SHEILAGH LANE
Sheilagh’s life has been one of travel, adventure and continuous learning. She was born in St. Andrews, Scotland, and grew up in the mountains of Peru. She received her high school graduation from an English boarding school and then travelled widely living and working within a variety of cultures.

Her life experience and education reflect a wide variety of training from theatre and puppetry to running her own home based daycare and home school for 18 years. She is a strong advocate of personal education and strives for the higher advancement of individuals, which led her to a fulfilling career in Waldorf education. Sheilagh has taught children from early childhood to class three for 30 years. She has dedicated her life and opened her heart to children, inspiring them to truly listen, and encouraging them to shine their light in the world. Sheilagh is a wonderful storyteller and puppeteer bringing magic and humour to audiences around the globe.
Martin Lane
When Starseed Kindercottage was founded in 2005 Martin committed to supporting the vision for a nurturing educational environment. While continuing involvement in other work he strove to facilitate and equip the project to enable its functioning in the home environment by creating equipment and holding space for Sheilagh, the children in her care and their parents.
Late 2009 found Martin dedicating himself fully to Starseed. Being more involved enabled him to develop a range of programs that encouraged children to explore, learn, and grow. From gardening and woodworking to candle dipping and cooking, Martin's activities helped shape the Starseed experience. His dedication and creativity have been instrumental in creating a unique and supportive community.
